I'm spinning! I'm spinning!

Is the third time a charm? Hope so. Took my third spinning class and it seems to be sticking. I'm making yarn! Unfortunately, my spindle (purchased at the second class) is on the hefty/heavy side so I should be trying to make worsted weight yarn. It seems to go well for a short bit, and then it begins to thin o-u-t to fingerling or lace and ... Kaboom! The drop spindle earns its name.

Almost perfect day

Thursday was almost perfect. I had taken the day off from work to spend time with visiting family, but woke up with some ailment that my co-workers have been sharing. We all just hung out at home. The sun was shining for the first time in days and it was almost warm. So I spent a few hours sitting on our little deck, watching the deer graze, and knitting! You may recognize the infamous Brandywine Shawl v2.3. I ripped it out for the second time and started to re-knit it. I hope the third time is a charm because the Habu linen is starting to show a little wear and I was very careful when I took it apart. It is also a gorgeous shawl when done correctly. (Shawl was designed by Rosemary Hill and is her pattern is available for purchase.) So far so good....
