Yarn Bombing

Ever since I heard about yarn bombing, I've wanted to do it. Bless the sprite or pixie at Castaway Yarns in town for encouraging us. Their street pole project is underway just in time for winter and for those of us with too much yarn on our hands...or is that time...or a sense of silly...or great sense of beautifying public spaces...? It was a wonderful excuse to use up skein ends and pracitse some new stitches. Pole grey for those who like neutrals and the festive honeycomb for those who like colors. Waiting to hear from the organizers about the next step which will be the sew the pieces together and give our street poles their new sweaters.

It's school ... again?

Yes, another school year has begun ... in the middle of August. Andy why not? This year it rained in August. I saw my first watermelon two days ago. (Someone was selling them out of his truck on the side of the road so I:m sure they are not local.) Speaking of produce, we have one orange tomato in the garden. The rest are still hard, green balls. I was able to knit with wool throughout the summer. Now that we are all back on campus, there's a chance I'll be able to schedule a knit-break with the school nurse as soon as the book dust settles.
