Bad Ju-ju
We had a rather serious crime alert at work this week. Fortunately, it turned out to be nothing, but the police were called and arrived with guns drawn, so to speak. We are still recovering from the non-event experience. Our safe, little work space feels violated.
I spent that evening carefully ripping out the scarf I had begun earlier. The scarf is a combination of two threads of yarn: dark navy silk over stainless steel and a cool gray merino. Knitted together it's a darkish gray. But it was the ragged and uneven edges that I just couldn't come to terms with it. They looked bad and felt wrong. None of the usual tricks and tips helped to even things out.
I will begin again tonight.
